On our walk we came across this modern day statue of some guy. I was
struck by the columns supporting him. They are the lotus style of
columns used in the construction of temples during the time of the
Pharaohs.

Ah! I finally got a picture of a horse and buggy. Still working on
the donkey cart.

I have been scanning pages out of old journals that contain minutes
from some of the first presbytery meetings of the Coptic Evangelical
Church. All of the text is handwritten.

Outside my window at work I can see workers welding things.

A bunch of wires at the Synod of the Nile

The next time you have difficulty getting your computer to print something,
imagine doing it with Arabic instructions.

The hospital next to the Synod of the Nile is currently being cleaned.
The scaffolding that the workers climb on is made of nothing but round
wooden beams and rope.

My office.

I printed out a copy of the 86 page book that I had been working on
to send to the organization that is printing and binding it. Here's
the result.

On my way home I noticed that a vendor had cleaned the pavers just
outside his shop. Notice the gray, funky dust that covers the pavers
on the bottom of the photo. This dust covers EVERYTHING, giving you
yet another idea what the pollution is like.

The neighborhood where I live... Ghamra.

Teri came home last night with all kinds of food. She went to visit
an Egyptian lady she had befriended. It turned out her husband owns
a grocery store and he took Teri there. He gave her all kind of food...
for FREE. This is just the chocolate she got. I thought it was fitting
that she got so much candy just before Halloween.
