Our group traveled to Port Said (pronounced Sigh-eed), which is the
city on the Mediterranean end of the Suez Canal, to attend a church
service. It turned out part of the Africa Cup was being held in Port
Said and players from the Nigerian football (soccer) team wanted to
visit church before their next match. Here I am with their coach.

Fun with my long hair.

Here we are at the port of Port Said.

We saw thousands of clams all over the beach. Most of them still had
the meat inside.

The Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Port Said.

Our host had a plate on the wall with the Lord's prayer written in
Arabic. The large word in the middle is "Abbana"... Our
Father.

Sunset near Rashid (also known as Rosetta, the place where the Rosetta
stone was discovered).

Angela, Teri, Jen, and Jennifer hamming it up. Jen is in her usual
"Vanna" pose.

The glassy Mediterranean Sea was beautiful on the day we visited it.

The Evangelical Presbyterian Church we visited in Alexandria.

As you can see it was dedicated in 1902 by 1st United Presbyterian
Church in Allegheny, PA.

While I was home for my grandmother's funeral I visited my church
and saw Becca, little Laura, and our interim pastor Beverly.

My cousins Dana, Laura, and Denise.

My cousin Kyle and his girlfriend.

My cousin Crystal and her new husband Wade.

Dindaddy and my brother Darren.

Me, my brother and my grandparents.

My nuclear family. Darren, Dad, Mom, and me.

Back in Egypt we saw a lot of commotion outside our residence hall.
The street was lined with a police officer every 10 feet or so and
the traffic had been stopped. A few minutes later a fleet of SUV's,
Mercedes, and military vehicles zoomed down the highway. President
Mubarak was on his way to visit his brother in Heliopolis.

On my second visit to Coptic Cairo I remembered to take a picture
of this fantastic map. It details the journey the holy family took
during their stay in Egypt.

The streets of Coptic Cairo.

I had the kids from my English class read a skit about going to the
doctor. I made little doctor's hats for them to wear.

They love the camera.

Me and two of my students.

One day we had a sandstorm. The sky looked foggy except is was a nice
salmon color. A couple of times I felt sand hit my face and eyes.

A camel dude at the pyramids.

Me, deep in a tomb below the pyramid of Queen Henutsen.

A view of Giza from the vantage point of the Great Sphinx. (You're
looking at the back of the Sphinx.)

For you church music and art lovers... I found this sculpture at a
church in Maadi. It is made of organ pipes.

There was a huge party at RCG for "open day," whatever that
is.

Muslim and Christian girls were all crowded around a stage where a
live band pumped out rhythmic dance music.

And of course they had an inflatable slide for the kiddies.

There were probably 1,000 people in attendance.
