Darren looking down on the massive Unfinished Obelisk. As the ancient
Egyptians carved this obelisk out of the quarry, it cracked so they
abandoned it. It still sits just where they left it. Archaeologically
it was an important find because researchers were able to study how
the Egyptians carved them out of the stone.

After an early morning, three our drive to Abu Simbel, we arrived
at the famous, gigantic statues of Ramses II.

We drove back to Aswan and were treated to the beauty that is unique
to the Nile. Lush green banks surrounded by desert.
